Fellowship Groups
What are Fellowship Groups?
A fellowship group is made up of anywhere between 15 and 40 people and is a vital part of growing as a Christian as it provides a place for close relationships and deeper learning
about biblical principles. This idea has roots in the early Christian movement, where the New Testament describes a thriving community centered in homes where people gathered to hear
teachings, share meals, pray, and build meaningful friendships (Acts 2:43-47; Ephesians 4:15-16). God has a special purpose for each person in the community (1 Corinthians 12:11-25;
Romans 12), and we believe that participating in a home church is the best way to experience the love of Jesus. This type of fellowship is what God desires for his people and we
encourage everyone to get involved.
Family
Don't let the name fool you. Although there are quite a few families in the Family Sphere, everyone acts like family. A warm, active group made up of young professionals, young
families, and folks all the way up to empty nesters, this sphere meets together every Sunday morning at 10:30 am at our Study Center. Many people are involved in
service ministries in our community. Multiple unique Fellowship Groups meet weekly in homes for Bible study and building friendships. The IV ministry is a unique group that serves
senior living facilities. Ted Howell and Tom Schoofs oversee the Family Sphere.
Young Adult
META
"Meta" is a Greek prefix that means "beyond." This sphere, made up of four Fellowship Groups, includes college students, young professionals, and young families. There's a spirit
of
change and pressing toward new horizons in character, spiritual growth, deepening relationships, and life stages. Meta likes to be out and about: you'll find them in a dart league
at a
local brewery or serving residents in local nursing homes. Meta Sphere gathers at 10:30 am every Sunday at our Study Center and hosts all kinds of unique
fellowship opportunities afterward.
