Book of the Month: Playing with Fire: A Modern Investigation into Demons, Exorcism, and Ghosts

Spooktober is over, but if you’re still looking for a scary book that will keep you up at night, look no further than “Playing with Fire” by Billy Hallowell. Hallowell is a Christian journalist who brings his skeptical eye to bear on the topic of demon possession, infestation, and oppression. He investigates real-life cases of demon possession and the truth behind them. Remember the movie The Exorcist? Did you know that was based on a real-life case of a demon-possessed boy? He investigates that case fully in this book and the facts of the case will shock you.

The real value of the book, however, is not in its shocking investigation of the real-life possession cases, but in its exploration of Biblical teaching around the topic. He talks about what causes demonic oppression and what we as Christians can do to fight against the forces that are here on our planet. The book is a tremendous resource for fighting victoriously in this spiritual battle.
