Praying Church Seminar Recap
Freedom Fellowships recently hosted A Praying Church Seminar, led by Bruce Goldsmith of SeeJesus Ministry. Looking at the Bible, church history, and the life of Jesus, Bruce showed us how we can be a praying church that unleashes the power of the Holy Spirit into the world
We learned that prayer is the true power train behind the church. While that might not be news to us, if we’re honest, we often look to our own strategies, abilities, and resources for the power we need to do God’s will.
Returning to prayer gives us a power source that will not be depleted. Why? Because through prayer we access the Holy Spirit, who makes Christ present in the church. And if Jesus is with us, we will have abundant power, wisdom, and love, to do His will.
Here is what one attendee thought about the seminar:
“Bruce’s presentation of the material from the book, A Praying Church, was very good. I had read the book a few years back, so not only was it a good reminder, but Bruce added more to the material that was very motivating. I’d say the most important takeaway was the importance of prayer. That it is the starting point and center of all work in the church. Prayer is not to be relegated to a certain small group of people or to something we do as an afterthought. Prayer should be seen as a priority, without which the church will accomplish very little.” - Indre Howell
It is our desire for Freedom Fellowships to be a praying church, where prayer is a priority and we accomplish much through the power prayer brings! If you share this desire, but missed the seminar, here are some ways you can be a part of this praying church:
Ask a friend who went to the seminar to share with you what they learned. Grab a copy of Paul Miller’s “A Praying Church” and read it for yourself! We’d like to host another SeeJesus seminar in the near future, so keep your eyes open for more details!
It is a blessing and a privilege to speak with God our Father. It’s a wonderful blessing that we can do this together with one another. Let us together turn to the Lord in prayer, and boldly follow Him in the power prayer brings!
